Glass Work Bench - Panel 2
Stained Glass Windows - 5 Panel Set.
Glass Sun Panel 2
This stained glass commission of an abstract landscape panel is the 2nd of a set of 5 that goes in 1 of the stairs windows. The 5 panels sweep around the customers room forming one glass landscape picture. Subtle colours of glass let lots of light into the living room of this period home, whilst working with the décor of the rooms around it. The abstract glass window panels are coming together & its great to see my designs coming to life.
The thing I have to watch on this & the next 3 stained glass panels is that all the lead lines which form the suns rays & the landscape all line up. I measured the apertures where the leaded panels were to go several times, as the house is so old most walls & doors are not sqaure or level. Once I had confirmed the postions of all 4 apertures in relation to each other i drew up the panels to size lying them on the floor so i could see over the top of what would be the pattern for the leaded lights, this way I could see how all the lead lines followed each other to create this glass art piece. Even though panel 1 (see previous blog) that was going above the hall door was not in direct line to the other 4 glass panels, I still wanted the lines to flow around the room, as I felt this was very important for the glass landscape to work as whole picture to form a complete flowing piece of glass art.
Keep in touch as I will post the progress of this stained glass panel set thats on my work bench in my stained glass studio in Leicestershire, over the next few weeks for you to keep you eye on the progression of the project & watch how it all fits together.
